The name's Corwin. You might know me, if not, you should probably fix that. I like playing all sorts of games, listening to quality music, and lurking around fandoms. This is described in further detail by the "more about me..." link.

Rockman 7 FC/Mega Man 7 & Rockman 8 FC/Mega Man 8, PC, 2008/2010
Probably the least-deserving game on this list, since it’s not even an official port…but I’m sure I’ll get to some really crazy stuff later on in terms of unlicensed games, so why not?
A long time ago, some guys, or one guy, made ports of Mega Man 7 and 8 that redid the entire games in the style of the NES titles, for consistency between Mega Man 1-10. This is awesome. It includes entire legit chiptune soundtracks*, new graphics, adjusted level designs, and everything.
I had the pleasure of playing Rockman 7 FC a few years back, and I gotta say, it simulates the feeling of playing Mega Man 7 as an NES Mega Man game very accurately—which is to say, I sucked ass at it.
(Warning: The video above is an entire playthrough of Rockman 7 FC, so don’t hit play unless you’re ready to deal with the consequences.)
Unlike some of the other games, these were fan-made and freely distributed, so I don’t feel bad tossing up a link to where you can get them. (Don’t ask me for tech support, though!)
the music is now always on and I keep looking up helmets and I can’t decide if I want to do a Megaman costume, a Protoman costume, or a Joe costume. Joe’s my favorite and the easiest, but no one outside of the fans would get it. Protoman is badass but everyone does him. Megaman is cool, but I like the full helmets and for him you need modular/open face. Gaaaah help me decide.
I love the Mega Man & Bass soundtrack so much. It has a more relaxed tone than the rest of the classic series, but most of the songs are beautiful. It doesn’t get nearly enough attention.
